Common languages are:
C and variants thereof like C++ and C#,
Visual Basic,
LabVIEW.

The Software output files are used by:
Firmware Engineering,
Manufacturing Engineering,
Production.

All these files should be ISO-9000 compliant in form and stored in a compliant system.
This is as much a matter of sanity as it is good business practice.
